--A “Grom Test” surfing event will take place on Sunday, August 19, on the 37th Street Beach, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., hosted by Heritage Surf and Sport (www.heritagesurf.com, 263-3033).
--The 23rd Annual Joe Distasio-Joseph Romano, Sr. Special Olympics Crabbing Competition will take place on Monday, August 20, starting at 8:30 a.m., sponsored by the SIC Italian American Club (263-0700) .
--A “Quality of Life” Meeting will take place on August 28, 9:00 am to 10:00 am, in Council Chambers prior to City Council meetings. Representatives from the City’s Police Department and Administration will be on hand during these informal sessions to hear comments from the public and share information. --The public is invited to enjoy musical performances at VFW Post 1963, located on JFK Boulevard next to the Sea Isle Bridge. Visit www.vfwpost1963.com to learn about all VFW events.
-- Personalized Bricks for the Sea Isle City Historical Museum’s Memorial Garden are available for $200 each. Bricks are a great way to remember someone you love (609-624-7929).
--Dogs are not permitted on Sea Isle City’s beaches or promenade during the summer months. Dogs will be permitted on the beach once again on September 30. As always, dogs must be on a leash, and owners must curb and clean-up after their pets.
--The S.I.C. Beach Tag Office has moved to a temporary location in a mobile office on 42nd Place (near the Lobster Loft Restaurant, across from the Municipal Marina). The Beach Tag Office, which will soon move to its permanent home inside the new Welcome Center, is currently open seven days a week, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Look for the “Open” flag out front (263-1771).
--Sea Isle City now offers online view and payment options for municipal property tax bills and water/sewer utility bills (visit www.seaislecitynj.us and click on the "Tax & Utility Payment Center" icon at the bottom of the homepage). You can mail-in a payment as always, or pay online through your checking account, credit card or debit card. Please Note: Online viewing is free; however a convenience charge will be applied if you pay your bills online.
--America’s Active Duty Military Personnel can visit Sea Isle’s beaches for free by visiting the Beach Tag Office between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day and providing a current active military duty identification card to receive a 100% discount on Sea Isle City’s beach tags (263-1771).
--The City of Sea Isle City will gladly arrange a Welcome Home Ceremony for any members of the military as they return to town. To arrange a “Hero’s Welcome” for your favorite Sailor, Marine, Soldier, Airman, National Guard or Coast Guard service member, phone Mayor Desiderio’s Office (263-4461, ext. 245) or Commander Chick Haines at VFW Post 1963 (263-1711). You can also find a “Welcome Home Ceremony” application online at www.seaislecitynj.us (via the “Quick Links” and “Downloadable Forms” tabs).
--You can properly dispose of American flags by placing them in the flag collection bin in front of VFW Post 1963 on JFK Boulevard. Please be certain to properly care for all America flags no matter what size!

--Beach Wheelchairs can be borrowed from the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol, Memorial Day to Labor Day.
