Sea Isle City Octoberfest Slated for Oct. 20

Sea Isle’s Octoberfest Slated Oct. 20 is going to be fun !!

During Sea Isle City’s 2012 Octoberfest celebration on Oct. 20, families will enjoy a variety of free activities, including live German music and delightful hayrides on the beach.

SEA ISLE CITY – On Sat., Oct. 20, the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization will host their annual Octoberfest celebration at Excursion Park, JFK Boulevard and the Promenade, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Octoberfest’s family-friendly activities will include free hayrides on the beach, live music by the Philadelphia German Brass Band, craft and specialty vendors, food vendors, an entertaining magic show, and free children’s fun, such as face painters and inflatable bounce houses.

Octoberfest will also feature a popular Pie-Baking Contest, which will take place inside The Braca Café on JFK Boulevard. Pies of any type can be entered; pies from professional kitchens will not be accepted. Entries will be judged on taste, appearance and consistency. Prizes will be awarded to the bakers of the top three winning pies. Winners need not be present.

To enter the Octoberfest Pie-Baking Contest, bakers must submit a completed entry form by Thur., Oct. 18. To download an entry form, visit www.seaislecitynj.us  or www.seaislechamber.com .

Judges will have a difficult time choosing a winning pie during Sea Isle City’s 5th Annual Octoberfest Pie Baking Contest on Oct. 20, which each year attracts more and more entries.

VISIT THE NEW SEA ISLE CITY WELCOME CENTER

Sea Isle City’s new Welcome Center, located on JFK Boulevard at the foot of the Sea Isle Bridge, is now open.  In addition to being “the place” to get information about local events and happenings, the Welcome Center is also the home of Sea Isle’s Tourism Department and Beach Tag Office.  Plus, it’s where you can speak with representatives from the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization.

The Welcome Center is open 6 days a week through October (closed Sundays in October). The center will be open twelve months a year; winter hours soon to be posted.
